Nice, I like Pelican.
Well, it is the least evil I was tempted by Github pages because at first it seemed that I could avoid installing anything locally, but it only takes the first unexpected rendering to realize how false that promise was. So if I have to install the blog engine I prefer one written in a language I know (Python).
Have you tried Netlify? After you build the Pelican site (or any static site), you can deploy it with a command. The hosting is free, even with a custom domain and SSL.
