Thanks, Dan. I’m hoping to start this course in the next week or two.

OK. Do you have an estimate of your pace through the book?

Not really. I’m going to review the course it this weekend but I’ll make sure to check in with you when I do.

I stumbled on that course on another site and came to search for it here in the forum. It looks like that first link doesn’t work any more.

The other site linked to the page below, but I don’t know if it’s exactly the same.

It also linked to this other book, which has been mentioned in a couple of other posts.

In May Daniela Witten, co-author of An Introduction to Statistical Learning, Tweeted that a second edition was “coming soon.” Haven’t seen any further news about it though.

Years ago I worked through 3/4 of the first edition (true of so many texts for me, alas). I thought it was a great book and keep intending to go back and finish it some day, though I would have to start back at the beginning by now.

It looks interesting. I want to work through a statistics book in 2021, but I’m not sure which one yet. I started Andy Field’s book last year but I got pulled away by other things before getting very far.

I haven’t come across any intro stats book I really like, and they seem to differ so much in content and approach. I think the best I can do is read through several different ones to put together a good basic understanding in the aggregate.
